2021 and 2020 were record years for us!  Due to growth, and a strong backlog, we will be growing our teams and adding a new office in the West Lake/Fort Worth Texas area and offer relocation to those interested in a new destination.  This Texas District office will include Drainage/H&H engineers and designers at all levels to support a variety of projects in Texas and throughout the US!

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects.  Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk.  Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety.   Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. Location

This position is based in our new office in West Lake,  Texas.  Opportunities for flexible work are available.



Responsibilities

You will be part of a team supporting design/heavy civil construction for projects, performing drainage design, detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (using various models and methods), and preparation of design plans, reports and technical memoranda. 

Specific deliverables may include: 

Hydrology
•    Single-event and continuous rainfall modeling, Watershed analysis, hydrograph and peak discharge development and routing

Hydraulics
•    Pavement drainage, culverts, storm systems, bridge sizing and scour for highway and transit drainage
•    Flood analysis and knowledge of the NFIP including CLOMR and LOMRs
•    Stormwater quantity / quality calculations, LID, NPDES compliance and erosion control
 

Drainage Design 
•    Development of drainage plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for transportation projects. This includes developing terrain, grading and other design components via models such as Inroads, Arc-GIS and other pre and post processing software packages
 



Qualifications

BS or MS in Civil Engineering
2+ years drainage/hydrology/water resources design experience 
Design-Build project experience preferred
Software Modeling experience required in one or more of the following: MicroStation, AutoCAD, Arc-GIS, GEOPAK, Inroads, Civil3D, OpenRoads, HydroCAD.
Drainage/Hydrology software experience required in one or more of the following: HEC-RAS, HEC-GEORAS, HY-8, CulvertMaster, StormCAD, CivilStorm, PondPack, FlowMaster, 2D experience helpful such as SRH-2D, FLO-2D
Understanding of FHWA hydraulic engineering circulars and design series
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with 
Must have FE/EIT
This position includes occasional travel to project offices and work sites. Ability to travel at times.
