Description

Metlfab is hiring for an experienced machinist to setup and run 3 and 5 axis vertical milling centers. You will be milling mainly aluminum and plastic parts in accordance with customer supplied engineering drawing packages. These are precision tight tolerance parts with a high finish quality expectation. The ability to setup, fixture and run parts with little direction would be desired but training will be offered to the right individual. An added asset would be the ability for the individual to have to skill level to be able to diagnose and perform minor repairs on machining centers as needed.

The schedule is for a 40-hour work week. There are 2 shifts available.

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:45 am to 3:15 pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:45 pm to 12:45 am

Responsibilities:

• Setup, Fixture, and run 3 and/or 5 axis milling centers
• Dimensionally inspect your 1st piece to ensure that it meets the requirements of the engineering drawing, before sending to our Quality Department for final approval.
• Use various hand tools for dimensionally checking parts such as but not limited to: calipers, height gages, pin gages, thread gages, countersink indicators.
• Use a Keyence handheld CMM to dimensionally check parts as needed.
• Cross check other team members parts as needed.
• Change out milling center tooling as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance on machining centers as needed.
• Keep your work areas clean and tidy.
• Work directly with the CNC Programming team when programs need adjustments.

Position Requirements

• 3 years experience setting up, fixturing, and running parts on 3 and 5 axis vertical milling centers is desired.
• Must be proficient with using all types of hand measuring tools such as calipers, height gages, thread gages, pin gages, and indicators.
• Must be proficient in reading and comprehending engineering drawings.
• Must have a good attitude and the ability to work as a team with others.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• English language is a must.
