Summary of Role SunPower is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the Residential finance team. This role will be primarily focused on warranty management for SunPower's residential install systems. This position will report to the Director FP&A for Customer Care and O&M and will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Quality, and Program Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warranty program operational and data management needs. The candidate will work closely with senior O&M and customer care leadership to assist with warranty performance analyses and providing insights for improving near-term execution as well as conducting long-range planning. The right candidate will have experience analyzing large datasets to come up with actionable recommendations as well as leading implementation with cross-functional teams. Prior experience in annual planning, forecasting, and tracking expenses for O&M teams is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Oversee warranty reserve models and analysis, ensure alignment with Quality and Operations teams Support the development and refinement of warranty policies and recovery plans Support warranty scorecard KPIs reporting to drive performance, visibility, management, and improvement on an ongoing basis Track, analyze, and maintain warranty claims and other KPIs through appropriate databases Complete and distribute required analysis for monthly financial reviews of warranty activity Consolidate and analyze financial data including reconciliations, period to period variance analysis, derivation of cost targets, analyzing cost deviation with variance explanations Maintain the warranty status of multiple projects in regular status reports showing budget, forecast, Purchase Request status, Purchase Order status, as well as applicable accounting accrual data To facilitate operating team alignment and decision making, be able to present data in cohesive reports that provide clear communication and recommendations Actively participate with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope. Additional ad hoc assignments and projects supporting departments across the organization including month end financial reporting, Business Plan development, benchmarking and process analysis Create ad-hoc analyses to model updated assumptions and present findings to leadership Lead cross-functional projects to drive finance and process improvements Additional responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership Minimum Qualifications: At least 5 years' relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years of financial variance analysis (actuals to forecast comparison) and period to period analysis Understanding of repair activities and times as well as the basic principles of warranty and claim payment in the renewable energy industry, including standard and extended warranty plans for solar systems Proven technical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills, high level of independent judgment, initiative, and creativity to identify and clearly communicate key performance drivers to management CPA or accounting experience Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results Demonstrated effective written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills Established ability using Oracle, and Microsoft Office software with a particularly high proficiency with Excel Advance excel modeling skills and comfort with managing large datasets Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously in an ambiguous environment in a fast-growing company Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort communicating across levels and functions Excellent problem solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Solar or Wind industry or other renewable technologies Finance analyst experience at a renewable energy company highly desirable Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) - preferred Knowledge of Anaplan, Tableau and Qliksense Location: Position is based in Anaheim, CA or Remote CA but can also be located in Austin, TX Don't meet every single requirement?
