2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Employment Type - Full-Time, Non-Union
Pay- Salary commensurate with experience

Industry – Food Manufacturing
Education - High School Diploma
Experience - 3 Years manufacturing supervision


We are looking for a high energetic, self motivative individual that can make a difference and will immediately contribute to our efforts towards continuous improvement of our business.

Supervisor Duties Include but not limited to:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing employee results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Job Skills/Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can supervise hourly union employees in a fast-paced assembly line production environment.

  • Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity while observing all safety rules and operations protocols
  • Monitors production activities to eliminate downtime, delays and ensure adherence to production goals based on scheduling.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors production quality to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Maintains daily production records.
  • Coordinates with supervisor training of hourly production employees on job functions and the operation of various machines.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work areas, ensures proper handling of tools and equipment, and correct operation of machinery to provide a safe working environment.
  • Continuous improvement or VFM program knowledge.
  • Bi-Lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience supervising in a union environment preferred.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work at various speeds.  The noise level in the work environment can be extremely loud. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to work standing. Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, lift and must be able to work under these conditions every day, for entirety of shift (9+ hours).  This job requires frequent lifting of supplies and raw materials up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  This position requires good corrected hearing.
