Job Purpose:

The Design Drafter Intern provides computer-aided design (CAD) and detail drafting support to new product development and standard product support engineering activities. This position involves producing detailed drawings and simple layouts. This internship will be full-time during summer months and part-time (12-20 hours/week) during school year with a flexible schedule.

•Intern to join our team Part-Time starting February 2018, Full-Time during Summer 2018.
Graco is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of highly-engineered systems for numerous industrial and commercial applications.  This position will support our Industrial Products Division (IPD) in Minneapolis, MN.  In IPD our product line includes finishing products, such as paint spraying systems used in the aerospace and automotive industries, as well as on furniture, windows and doors (http://bit.ly/1nPSYut). Essential Duties:

CAD design & documentation:
•Participate in design of new products in cooperation with a design team consisting of engineers, other designers, and lab technicians.
•Produce CAD models/detail drawings of new products.
•Revise and redraw as required, production drawings of existing standard products.
•Use and apply Graco drafting standards.
•Complete ECOs by utilizing PDM and other tools.
•Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

•Looking for students entering their second year of a two-year technical degree.
•Thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices.
•Capable of using and applying Graco drafting standards.
