This position works on all phases of database administration within the Office of Technology Affairs (OTA) Systems Infrastructure group as a part of
the University Information Technology Services (UITS). This role provides a wide range of technical expertise in database technologies (MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Linux and Windows Server) in our DevOps environment and is responsible for provisioning, configuring, administering, and maintaining all OTA managed database systems. Much of the effort will improve our efficiency in delivering the various applications and services used by the faculty, staff, and students at Indiana University’s health sciences schools, and their affiliates, across all campuses. Many of these applications support patient care and therefore must be highly available, requiring 24×7 support 365 days a year.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Systems, Management, or related discipline and three years of experience in a combination of the following areas: database administration, application development, advanced scripting (i.e. Powershell, Bash, Perl, Ansible etc.), systems administration (i.e. Windows or Linux), problem analysis and resolution in systems analysis, project planning, and/or resolving highly complex integration issues.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Experience in system administration and user application support in a VMWare virtual server environment. Demonstrated ability with Class Relational Database Management Systems and a working knowledge of any standard SDLC process. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
