Customer Support Technician

This position will be located in Kaysville, UT or Chicago, IL.

Headquartered in Windsor, CT and with offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, SS&C provides the global financial services industry with a broad range of highly specialized software, business process outsourcing (BPO) services and application service provider (ASP) solutions. We deliver mission-critical processing for information management, analysis, trading, accounting, reporting, and compliance.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team to provide customer support for our clients. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has the proven ability to provide world class customer service, with a sense of urgency in all matters.  The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Corporate IT to ensure that all environment resources are at an optimum level in order to provide un-interrupted access to client hosted machines.
  • Set up new Hosted Machines for new or existing SKYLINE clients transitioning to the hosted environment.
  • Create credentials for new hosted clients.
  • Install SKYLINE and supporting applications.
  • Provide log in documentation to each new client.
  • Move SKYLINE databases from client’s local machines to hosted machines.
  • Reset passwords when necessary.
  • Submit requests to corporate IT group to add new hosted machines to existing back up process, when requesting data to be restored, and publishing dashboard URL’s.
  • Terminate sessions when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot Printer issues.
  • Troubleshoot Connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot other reported errors.
  • Maintain an accurate and current list of all hosted machines with specific machine details and client contact information.
  • Create Test machines for clients wanting to test a new version of SKYLINE prior to upgrading.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or certification in computer science or related technology field is preferred, not required
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer focused position involving technical knowledge of a company's products and services
  • Support the process to install software products on the customer’s environment.
  • Familiarity with IIS.
  • Experience with the basics of networking.
  • Familiarity with supporting virtual machines.
  • Extensive experience working with currently supported Microsoft operating systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working in and assisting others through help desk software, such as ZOOM in addition to other remote access desktop programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle all customers in a professional manner.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
