Independently completes non-complex production designs through utilization of design standards and tools (computer aided design systems and CAD), often working outside the scope of the tools. Also completes moderately complex designs or designs that fall outside the scope of the design system. Able to review more complex customer specifications and make decisions regarding customer specific requirements. Fluent in product and process knowledge as well as in production structural and mechanical design principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Independently completes minor project activity as delegated by the project leader. Projects can be either product/process improvement or production design process improvement. Contributes ideas for further improvements.
Responsible for completing work efficiently, accurately and on time.
Works independently to solve problems, but uses good judgment in seeking guidance where appropriate. Interfaces with other departments regularly in completing routine work.
Work content is an even mixture of routine and non-routine tasks. Typical work requires an understanding of Engineering processes, familiarity with Engineering information and familiarity with data sources.
Computer literacy is critical as most work requires the use of computer-based systems, a personal computer and a CAD system.
Typical information used is and required to understand bills of material, drawings, design data and design standards.
Work includes compiling, sorting, loading, analyzing, and reporting on whatever data is needed to support the task or project at hand.

Individuals must possess knowledge of materials and processes related to the company's manufactured product. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks, often conflicting in nature, to reach commitment dates. The ability to read and interpret complex specifications is required. Education and/or Experience
High school diploma required. Two-Five years of training or experience in the use of computer-based tools (Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD 2010 or Higher). A one or two-year Associate degree in a technical area is preferred. 3D modeling experience a plus.
