Responsible for leading manufacturing operations across all shifts at HIM Lake Forest. This includes interfacing with all other departments to review processes, operating costs and product quality. This position is key to insuring Quality, Service, Reliability, Agility, and Financial performance of the Lake Forest manufacturing activities.

Assists the Director, Manufacturing & Engineering by supervising the overall plant operation across multiple shifts. This position will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and packaging of dry powders, liquids, and tablets and reports to the Director, Manufacturing. Helps promote a team atmosphere, and the overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic and solid leadership. This position will assist in making recommendations and implementing approved projects to add in increasing the quality and efficiency of production output.


  • Provides management of shift operations, Shift Managers and Shift Supervisor(s). Provides clear feedback to all other shifts and departments to ensure efficiency and quality throughout the plant.
  • Works with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant. Helps establish work practices, operating procedures and work instructions to improve overall performance and efficiency of the plant.
  • Conducts continuous follow-up on floor procedures and practices, re-directing when necessary.
  • Attends production meetings and communicates all information accurately.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure functional objectives are met. Provides direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to further develop and improve staff individually, and as a group.
  • Responsible for establishing clear performance requirements and measuring metrics of personnel.
  • Creates "A Great Place to Work" culture within team and through interactions with other departments and personnel.
  • Ensures safety of all personnel, and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations. Reviews and inspects equipment, and contributes to the safety committee.
  • Develops and/or reviews plans to achieve production or organizational objectives, aligned with corporate strategies.
  • Evaluates manufacturing organization to ensure capabilities exist to produce the required products to supply the market.
  • Develop staffing program designed to achieve production and quality goals.
  • Responsible for creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere for improving safety and quality standards in the facilities.
  • Fiscal responsibility for establishing and managing operating costs to meet or exceed budget guidelines.
  • Provide training programs to direct reports to assure enhancement of their competencies.
  • Direct manufacturing operations at the Lake Forest HIM Plant through implementation of key initiatives and strategies including staff optimization/best practices for the development of an agile/flexible organization. Utilize/execute SPC methodologies.
  • Lead Continuous improvement effort within department to continuously review processes to eliminate waste and make improvements.
  • Ensure all corporate/regional procedures and policies are followed. Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory entities. Provide leadership/guidance/controls to create/maintain quality environment at all times.
  • Establishes and maintains operational efficiency, by fostering/directing a "Best Practices" environment based on open communication/teamwork/excellence/respect with continuous improvement.
  • Manages manufacturing/packaging operations to meet and/or exceed corporate expectations for quality/productivity/customer service. Enhance/develop/support/implement strategies to support current and future growth needs at all levels.
  • Provide effective reporting for accountability to performance goals. Perform and provide accurate data analysis to help drive decisions to present to management to support existing/new initiatives.
  • Responsible for effective reduction of operational costs and cost of goods. Participate in/develop programs for setting expectations/standards and to implement continuous improvement/cost savings activities. Deliver new technology/concepts. Manage activities/operations to highest quality, lowest costs, on time delivery.
  • Builds effective operational organization for high caliber performance through selection and rewards. Establishes high standards and accountability through coaching/mentoring to maximize potential.
  • Responsible to ensure full support to operations/marketing/sales/supply chain to ensure that existing /new product needs are met in an expeditious manner. Understand and practice Corporate mission/vision and values.
  • Contribute and/or develop/maintain business continuity plans for manufacturing operations. Enhance/develop/make recommendations/execute plans to take advantage of opportunities for new innovative processes/technology/systems. Work with internal and external entities for effectiveness and resolution.
