Nouryon - has an outstanding opportunity for a Unclaimed Property (Accounting Specialist).

The Unclaimed Property (Accounting Specialist) is responsible to lead the treasury role for the regional accounting center and manage the coordination of treasury related transactions within Specialty Chemicals.  In addition, be a liaison between the Regional Accounting Center and the treasury department.

Specific Tasks:

  • Responsible for reconciling local SAP electronic payment returns and open checks (payment runs) against the Treasury system
    • Create procedures and works with Business units to train and maintain operating standards
  • Validation of cash posting and monitoring of In-House Bank (IHB) limits
  • Review authorizations of IHB
  • Work with Treasury to post hedging transactions and develop processes
  • Manage the unclaimed property reporting process

o    collecting and assessing data together with Treasury team

o    GL posting

o    client follow up

o    compliance reporting to the state and filing annual reports

  • Responsible for specific accounting areas in the region (e.g. intercompany, treasury experience, GL, legal entities, legacy accounting)
  • Advise on complex treasury accounting issues
  • Advise business units on proper treasury accounting and policy
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Finance & Economic Manual (FEM)
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate processes and controls and drive continuous improvement
  • Drive changes in policies (e.g. training / SOP / policy / communications)


Requirements
  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance required
  • Accounting professional with 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance with IFRS experience a plus, and capable of analyzing complex processes and issues
  • Preferably has working experience in one or more business units / SMUs
  • Fixed asset reconciliation process management experience
  • Treasury experience preferred
  • Drive standardization across BUs in the region and guards the integrity and quality of the delivered accounting in the specific area
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in SAP; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook); experience with Hyperion Financial Management a plus
  • Highly analytical; accurate with an attention to detail
  • Ability to build relationships with customers/stakeholders in a multi-national environment
  • Drive standardization across BUs in the region and guards the integrity and quality of the delivered accounting in the specific area
  • Preferably has working experience in one or more business units / SMUs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet strict deadlines and manage pressure. Overtime may be required during month end close, tax deadlines and other critical projects.
