Will provide medical assisting and office support to the IUFW Lafayette Street Family Health Clinic, this will include Patient management prior and subsequent to physical examination. Complete intake information with patients, takes and records vital signs and completed CLIA waved laboratory procedures. Educates patient about health maintenance, STD/HIV prevention and contraception options. Give injections as prescribed. Greet patients and visitors to the office. Answer phones and provide appropriate information/assistance or route callers to appropriate staff member. Complete all necessary paperwork or reports related to job functions; maintain permanent files, develop and update patient charts.
Note: This position will work approximately 20-23 hours per week, beginning in June, thru the end of October.
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and graduate from Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program.
Completed the Medical Assistant Certification test. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
Lift and Carry up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds occasionally. Bending and lifting of supplies. Physically assisting Patients during exams.
