Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, and security. Requirements:
Do you want to build great things in a vibrant, smart, high energy team? Are you an experienced developer looking for a role to have a bigger technical impact? We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our chaos engineering development team. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems such as cloud-based environments.
As a Principal Engineer you will be responsible for architecting complex systems with high scalability, performance, and security. You will partner with other development teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing solutions within a distributed computing environment.
Qualifications
+ 7+ years experience in a software development environment
+ Development experience in Java/Python, object oriented programming and scripting languages
+ Good understanding of system concepts (networking, storage, compute)
+ Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store).
+ Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
+ Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Familiarity and understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.
+ Familiarity and understanding of Chaos Engineering principles.
+ Experience with Jira, Confluence, BitBucket
+ Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms.
**Responsibilities**
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Disclaimer:

California Pay Range: from $104,100 to $241,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $95,900 to $216,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $99,300 to $229,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $102,600 to $229,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
