Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting
The Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting will be responsible for the preparation of technical accounting memos and analysis addressing CoStar’s accounting for transactions under U.S. GAAP, including review of revenue contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606, and the implementation of new accounting standards. The position will also work with external auditors to assist with tests of controls, interim procedures, quarterly reviews and year-end audits. This position will assist in the financial reporting process including drafting disclosures and ensuring supporting schedules are accurate and provided to the auditors timely. This position will also serve as a point of contact for questions from the internal and external auditors.
Other responsibilities for this position include assisting with due diligence and purchase accounting procedures for acquisitions, coordinating with third party valuation experts, monthly close procedures for certain accounts and other special projects.
The Senior Technical Accountant should exhibit a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and audit methodologies; strong ability to research, assess the impact and document technical accounting issues; strong project management, communication, time management and organizational skills; strong work ethic; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Minimum requirements for the position include 3-5 years of public accounting experience or mix of experience in public accounting and a similar position. Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and CPA license are strongly preferred.
