Job Summary

As a Digital Manager Quality Engineering, you are recognized across the organization for functional expertise. Conducts highly complex quality assurance tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Performs technically advanced or in-depth development and execution of test cases. Works closely with project management, quality assurance, and development teams on multiple, multi-faceted projects from creation to completion. We are seeking talented Information Technology professionals to join the Waste Management team who are motivated to help us transform the way we design, build and use technology. With your skills and experience, we look for you to combine your technical expertise with industry best practices to align information technology solutions with Waste Management business strategy.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Acts as a team leader or project manager communicating direction for the team.
  • Participates in agile ceremonies and leads agile QE teams in an enterprise environment.
  • Assigns and oversees QE team assignments, generates project health reports.
  • Evaluates status, resource utilization, and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with other managers to integrate project with applications and initiatives.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and communication with peers, teams, business owners and management levels.
  • Oversees career development, performance management, and pay determination.
  • Partners with project team, understanding requirements, design, and test script scenarios.
  • Performs standalone and integration testing with internal IT applications.
  • Manages complex and ambiguous quality assurance issues, while working with internal technology staff to determine best resolution.
  • Drafts complex testing documentation including plans, conditions, and scripts.
  • Reviews advanced tests according to established plans and scripts.
  • Documents problems in issue log, retests software corrections through to problem resolution.
  • Schedules user acceptance testing and alpha- beta testing schedules.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is management of supervisory employees. This includes:
  • Direct supervision of full-time employees including team leads and individual contributors.


The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • 6 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

  • Other Preferred Experience
  • 10 years of QA Engineering or SDET positions.
  • People leader of QE or SDET teams.
  • JIRA software processes and procedures.
  • Quick Test Pro (QTP) automation
  • Query Surge ETL test automation tool
  • Query tools such as SQL and Toad
  • Scripting experience in Java or Python
  • Test Complete, Selenium and Performance Center
  • Experience testing logistical applications mobile native & web-based applications
