Part Time Telephone Interviewer


Job Description:

Our client, a global non-profit research organization located in RTP, is seeking a part time Telephone Interviewer that will join an existing team on a tobacco and health prevention-related study. The selected candidate will contact an assigned of administrators at mental health organizations in New York State. The interviewer will use an approved script to identify the correct administrative contact, describe the study, and request permission to send a survey packet. This position is a part time five month contract role located in Research Triangle Park, NC.


Responsibilities:


  • Attend a mandatory project training in late January 2018.

  • Contact an assigned list of people to call, open the database that contains the contact information, speak with administrators or their office staff (using an approved script provided to the interview team) to confirm they received a lead letter describing the study, request permission to send a survey, and continue follow-up with respondents via phone and email over the study weeks to try to obtain completed surveys.

  • Record the disposition of contacts in the database and update contacts when appropriate.

  • For administrators that have agreed to participate in the administrative portion, the interviewer will ask if they or another staff member would be willing to serve as a point of contact for the provider portion. If they agree, the interviewer will work with the point of contact to select a random sample of programs and a random sample of mental health staff within the programs, which will be entered into the database and to whom surveys will be sent.

  • The interviewer will conduct periodic follow-up with non-responders.

  • The interviewer will update database entries with administrative and point-of-contact information.


Education Requirements:


  • GED required

  • Bachelors degree preferred


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • Previous experience conducting telephone recruiting is ideal

    • Experience interacting with healthcare providers or working on health-related topics preferred

    • Customer service experience, especially that has involved telephone conversations or direct communication with clients/guests/customers where staff has had to help solve problems or provide a service is a plus

    • Must be able to follow a standardized script and protocol

    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and data security

    • Job requires organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Ability to keep organized, well documented records

    • Data entry experience is preferred

    • Ability to use telephone and headset

    • Must have strong social skills; be able to establish rapport with interviewees

    • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required


    Other Information:


    • Part-time staff will work approximately 15 hours per week. Staff will work 3, or 4, or 5 weekdays (we have some flexibility) during business hours M - F. No Saturday or Sunday calling will be required.
