Who You Are


You are a dedicated Forensic Biologist with a masterful command of DNA analysis and serology, ready to join the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE). With a Master's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field and at least a year of hands-on experience in a forensic laboratory, you are proficient in the intricacies of molecular biology and forensic techniques.

Required Skills:

  • Strong background in molecular techniques, including experience with DNA extraction, quantification, DNA typing and interpretation methods.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing techniques.
  • Computational and/or bioinformatics knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of forensic laboratory procedures, evidence handling protocols, and chain of custody requirements.
  • Experience with research including scientific abstracts/presentations and publications.
  • Experience and passion for teaching forensic biology topics to an array of audiences including undergraduate, graduate, and early career scientists.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work meticulously to avoid contamination or misinterpretation of evidence.
  • Proficiency in scientific data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and principles of scientific integrity.
  • Ability to handle potentially hazardous materials and follow safety protocols and regulations.
