Our client is a multi-billion dollar global leader in providing engineered products for a variety of industries. We are partnering with them on a General Manager opening for their site in the Chicago suburbs. We are looking for a degreed leader with strong cross-functional experience and a positive mindset to lead operations & manage the P&L of the facility.

This location performs injection molding & CNC machining of precision components for aerospace, fluid power, marine, oil & gas, and other industries. The General Manager will have oversight responsibilities for Operations, Product Development, Quality, HR, Finance, and Customer Service. The GM will report to the Global President and will interface with a variety of key internal stakeholders & global sales teams.

General Manager Requirements

  • Responsible for all operations of a two shift, 75 employee location.
  • Manage the P&L for the plant.
  • Collaborate with the Global Sales team to ensure quotes and production targets are aligned.
  • Motivate and develop the management team & empower the machinists and other team members.
  • Assist in the product development process.
  • Represent the company in interactions with customers.
  • Prepare the annual budget.
  • Leverage reporting and Lean Management principles to identify areas of additional improvement.

General Manager Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, another Engineering discipline, or another technical field is required.
  • A Master’s degree, Six Sigma, ASQ, or other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CNC machining, plastic injection molding, or production in the areas of bearings, seals, aerospace, fluid power, or a related product line/industry is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience managing union employees is beneficial.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% including internationally.
