The Strategic Account Manager will build professional relationships in order to grow profitable sales to meet and exceed the earning objectives of the Company. This position will work with current national clients on complex projects. This position reports to the SVP, National Business Unit and is expected to build a cooperative relationship with the local Operating Unit President(s). Must have a strong operational roofing background with technical and safety expertise.
Identify, build and develop high margin activity in the manufacturing, industrial, healthcare and food sectors.
Establish and maintain top level contact with the management of existing and potential customers.
Measure and monitor the effectiveness of all sales techniques.
Develop and utilize Centralized Procurement wherever possible.
Provide ongoing communication to SVP NBU on initiatives, opportunities, challenges, and issues.
Achieve quarterly/annual sales goal by consistently meeting monthly objectives and expectations.
Build credibility within the organization as well as to outside stakeholders.
Conduct on-going market analysis by obtaining intelligence through multiple sources. Recognize trends, create strategies and develop regional vision to drive change to increase sales and earnings.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of company products to facilitate sales efforts that affect target markets.
Assist in development of sales and marketing strategies and business plans to maximize profitable organic growth in both new and renewal business.
Engage in local and regional associations as warranted.
Represent the Company at trade shows and conferences where applicable.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Minimum five years previous national commercial roofing sales experience
Ability to effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
Must have a strong operational roofing background with technical and safety expertise.
Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills.
Proficient in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRM
Ability to work with complex projects
Advanced knowledge and experience in commercial roofing applications/systems.
