A top short-term acute care hospital in gorgeous Colorado State seeks a Nurse Manager NICU to join their rapidly growing Neonatal Intensive Care nursing team in a brand new building.
Reporting to the Administrative Director of Critical Care, the Nurse Manager NICU will oversee 4 dedicated Assistant NICU Nurse Managers (2 day shift, 2 night shift), a NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist, and a NICU RN Educator, as well as a compassionate NICU nursing staff for a total of 130 FTEs with impressive 92.1% nursing staff retention.
This nationally-ranked NICU is a top referral center for the region and Nurse Manager NICU will oversee a 55+ bed NICU caring for Colorado’s tiniest babies as young as 24 weeks. This high-acuity NICU has grown from an average daily patient census of 37 in 2016 up to 53 in 2018 and will continue growing as they move into a brand-new building in early 2019.
The Nurse Manager NICU will collaborate with the NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist, NICU Educator, Medical Director, Neonatologists, and clinical staff to manage, assess, and enhance patient care. The Nurse Manager NICU will provide guidance on nursing practice, hiring and retention, budgeting and quality improvement.
The ideal Nurse Manager NICU candidate has clinical experience in a high-acuity NICU, setting. Previous day-to-day management experience is a plus. The Nurse Manager NICU will bring their clinical expertise to several long-term projects including throughput and overall length of stay, patient safety, staff engagement, and patient/staff satisfaction.
