Job Core Responsibilities

Engineer 3, Materials - Stress Engineer, Meggitt Fuel Systems & Composites, Rockmart, GA.  Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Crashworthy, Ballistic Tolerant Fuel Cells (Bladders). Design material tests to develop & validate bespoke material characteristics as FEA model inputs & parameters using non-linear materials (e.g. woven cloths, elastomers, & rubber coated fabrics) analyzed in high speed events (e.g. crash impact tests). Provide technical support for testing, materials selection & development of new designs.  Must have MS in Materials Engineering or related science/engineering field & 3 years exp in each of the following: (i) performing stress analysis w/classic, hand calculations, (ii) conducting finite element methods in non-linear materials such as elastomers, cloths, and coated fabrics, (iii) developing bespoke material characteristics as FEA model inputs & parameters, & (iv) performing PATRAN/MARC (or NASTRAN SOL600) implicit non-linear analysis.  Experience may be gained concurrently.  Apply online at: www.meggitt.com
