Preservation Facility Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Preservation Facility Engineer Mansfield Mill is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to work alongside incumbent to learn the responsibilities of the role, as well the mill’s facilities, people and work systems. Successful learning and development will lead to transition of responsibilities, progressing up to full scope in preparation for incumbent retirement. 

 Minimum Qualifications

    • B.S. in Engineering. B.S. in Civil Engineering highly preferred
    • 8-10 years’ experience –  industrial / manufacturing / maintenance

  • Experience/Skills Needed
    • Analysis, design, fabrication, installation and repair of concrete, steel, aluminum, wooden structures
    • Analyze, design, install, and repair underground gravity and pressure piping for process sewers, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water, effluent, natural gas, other process piping
    • Knowledge of soil properties to allow the design, installation and/or repair of roads, railroads, foundations, levees, retaining walls, protective structures used in excavations
    • Knowledge of building systems to allow the writing of specifications to replace/repair building foundations, wall systems, frames and roofs.
    • Ability to use AutoCAD, finite element analysis, RISA-3D, building and general codes (NFPA, IBC, API, OSHA)
    • Ability through continuing education credits to permit building renovations, additions to existing buildings and new buildings through the Louisiana Office of the Fire Marshal.
    • PE in Civil Engineering in LA, or ability to get same (Structural and Environmental a plus)

  • Other Responsibilities
    • Ensure Mill performance meets my client policies and IP Global Manufacturing Systems standards
    • Provide oversight and collaboration with area maintenance and operations teams on tanks, pressure vessels and pressure relief valves; steel and painting; roofs, buildings and concrete; elevated platforms, stairs and ladders; HVAC and building ventilation; piping and pipe bridges; insulation; equipment bases; cranes and lifting devices; housekeeping; sewers and underground pipes; asbestos abatement; roads and railroads; fire protection; fencing, demolition, dikes and levees, stacks and chimneys; and cooling towers
    • Learn the Capital Budget Process to be able to assist the Capital Project Engineers with the development and installation of projects
    • Mentor less experienced engineering technical graduates to assist them in their development.
    • Assist EHS in the maintenance of the overland flow waste water treatment plant and solid waste facilities as requested.
