Part-time Field Interviewer

On behalf of 2M Research, Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking outgoing and motivated Field Interviewers to conduct in-home, laptop-assisted questionnaires. Interviews will typically be pre-arranged, but Field Interviewers must be comfortable contacting individuals who were not previously contacted to gain study cooperation on the spot, or for a later interview date.
Interviewers must be available to work beginning July, 2019 and attend a paid, in-person training in the Arlington, Texas area July 21, 2019-July 25, 2019. The project is scheduled to run through November 22, 2019. Interviewers will work approximately 24-32 hours per week. Days and times can be flexible but must be set on a project calendar at least three weeks in advance. Afternoon, evening and weekend work is required. Overnight travel may be required.

As a Field Interviewer, you will:

  • Travel to respondent homes
  • Greet, direct, and explain research processes to participants
  • Conduct laptop-assisted interviews
  • Be responsible for laptop and all other study materials
  • Keep respondent information and interview details confidential
  • Report to Field Supervisor through regularly scheduled weekly calls
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by management


  • Previous research or social science data collection experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and outgoing
  • Capability to use laptop/data collection software
  • Comfortable interacting with people in unfamiliar neighborhoods
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Age 21 or older
  • Must be able to pass a background and motor vehicle record check
  • Personal, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
  • Personal cell phone required
  • Must be willing to drive up to 50 miles or more, one way in certain locations, to contact respondents as necessary

Additional Information:

  • Paid, in-person training in the Arlington, Texas area from July 21-July 25, 2019
  • Field Interviewers will report directly to their assigned Field Supervisors and will be responsible for preparing detailed notes on the status of their assigned cases as well as accurate reporting of hours and expenses
  • Spanish speaking preferred and required for some locations

Physical Requirements:

  • Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening, and fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Be exposed to various types of weather and environments as might be expected in a field interviewing role
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle for study purposes
  • Must be able to carry a laptop and other materials up flights of stairs
