Description

This position can be located anywhere in the US or Canada. Must be near a major airport.

Position Summary:

The Application Development Manager - Waste Water is responsible for enabling strategic initiatives across key product lines, target applications and accounts, specifically in the waste water industry. It acts as the sales link to the Business Units, product development and marketing / verticals providing customer and industry insight related to product/application needs and industry trends. This role provides detailed technical/product application consulting that address the most critical business and operational needs for Hach’s key customers. The ideal candidate has strong waste water analytics experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recognized as an industry expert in their assigned process and vertical market: waste water
  • Works closely with front line sales to consult and educate key customers
  • Works closely with customers to solve “complex” problems delivering efficiencies, optimization and cost saving that address the customers primary business/operational needs 
  • Provides key market insight to internal sales and marketing groups to facilitate development of strategic business and marketing plans.  Also provides voice-of-customer and application insight to product planning and development teams
  • Supports the BU on Beta trials
  • Leads field evaluations for complex application evaluations 
  • Collects and develops information to support and develop sales tools (value sell documents, application notes, quick reference sale notes, competitive analysis, etc.)  
  • Provides presentation leadership at Hach sponsored seminars, and National industry sponsored seminars and conferences. 
  • Manages or supports training programs on an assigned basis

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • BA, BS or MS degree required.  A degree in a science related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.  
  • 5 years of technical applications experience in similar products and services required.  
  • Direct customer commercial/sales experience is preferred.      
  • Must have good computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
  • Demonstrates exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.  Requires proven ability to speak before large groups.
  • Must exhibit the willingness and ability to assimilate technical information quickly.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.  
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record which is acceptable to Hach
