Job Description

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provide systems analysis, support, inventory and installation of all McLane Company, Inc. hardware and software at a division, including Automation System hardware and software, and the documentation of all installation guidelines, support and references of the automated processes, hardware and software.  Provide technical support which includes all computers, laptops, servers, data network equipment, and printers at division.  Responsible for the Automation System support, functionality, backup, and recovery of the hardware and software with additional technical assistance from the Home Office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.  A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
* Provide consultation or advice from the Home Office team to an individual or management about the technical issues the business is experiencing.
* Consult with end users and management teams to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
* Provide written and verbal communication to the business and IT management on the resolution of all technical issues.
* Resolve all Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products related issues with assistance or direction from the Home Office teams.
* Resolve all hardware issues with computers, printers, and hand wireless devices with assistance or direction from the Home Office teams.
* Update all division issues in the McLane Service Desk ticketing system.
* Resolve data network issues in the local or wide area of the networks.
* Provide the installation and/or upgrades of new hardware and software to the client environment, including computers, laptops, servers, data network equipment, and printers with precise directions from the infrastructure team.
* Provide technical support on enhancements of all PC hardware, software, printers, security badge access systems, security camera systems and LAN/WAN at the division.
* Perform hardware and software inventories and communicate changes via Altiris reporting.
* Follow detailed instructions for adding devices to the wireless network.
* Monitor and review local hard drive data storage for any local stored files to ensure compliance with company policy and guidelines.
* Provide installation of all computers, and peripheral equipment due to upgrades, new purchases, teammate moves or hardware failures.
* Establish and maintain communication with the customer and the management teams.
* Provide consultation or advice with the assistance from the Home Office teams to management about the technical issues with the Automation System.
* Analyze, troubleshoot and advanced problem resolution of all Automation Systems physical, virtual, and software issues at the division.
* Create, maintain and update an automation replacement hardware schedule that meets the needs of the business.
* Create, maintain and update Automation Systems restoration plan.
* Conduct weekly reboots of Automation Systems with specific directions from the Home Office and management teams.
* Monitor and communicate accurate downtime the division is experiencing during a priority automation outage.
* Resolve label issues with the automated system.  This includes reprints, enhancement recommendations, print quality and scanning capabilities.
* Monitor weekly scripts for performance, database size, server reboot, services running, scripts for health, database connections, and report any issues to be ready for beginning of the week production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must have:
* Minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology, preferably in an Intel/Windows environment.
* Associate's degree in Information Systems or related field.
* Knowledge of computer environments (i.e., DOS, WINDOWS, LINUX, and UNIX). 
* Ability to follow instructions on paper or commands via a phone conference during the installation/deployment of hardware or software or while resolving a hardware or software problem.
* Ability to make a network patch cable from instructions provided.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Warehouse environment.
* Office environment.
