Regional VP - OH, MI, KY, IN

SOS Security has an immediate need for a Regional Vice President in MI, OH, KY and IN located in our Smithfield, Michigan office.

POSITION SUMMARY:
 Responsible for the day to day activity and flow of all facilities within their area/region.
 Responsible to grow relationships with client management and to maintain a high level of
service quality at or above company and client standards.
 Grow profitable portfolio of business within the region.
 Responsible for financial performance of the region; meet KPI targets, implement strategies
to improve underperforming areas.
 Design, implement and partner on regional recruiting strategies.
 Develop and manage team of Account, Operations and Branch managers.
 Respond to client concerns and all substandard conditions noted during visits with urgency,
 Appropriate follow-up and communication with the client and supervisor
 Perform site visits to all locations on a weekly basis.
 Ensure their compliance to uniform standards and other standards relative to appearance,
understanding of post orders, recovery/incident reporting, communication protocols with
site management and all leadership and supervisors
 Work closely with office and corporate management to ensure the correct people are
assigned at client locations.
 Work closely with Human Resources on all associate counseling and disciplinary issues.
Conduct timely investigations of misconduct in cooperation with Human Resources.
 Assist in implementing and maintaining company directives, policy and procedures through
field oversight and management.
 Ensure all posts are covered by monitoring attendance and responding to staffing issues.
 Appropriately schedule visits during evenings and/or weekends as necessary to ensure all
sites are visited with sufficient regularity to sustain the quality of the service and
adequately communicate with client management.
 Assist with the recruitment and hiring of new associates as needed.
 Responsible for all risk management assessments as well as ensuring compliance with local,
state and federal guidelines regarding emergency and security.
 Liaison with local law enforcement to assist in investigations of accidents, thefts and
property loss.
 Hire, train and coordinate work schedules of all security leadership personnel to ensure a
secure environment at all locations at all times.
 Establish security objectives, goals, processes and plans in support of divisional and
corporate strategic directions.
 Exercise sound judgment for all decisions related to customers, vendors, suppliers and
employees.
 Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of asset and information protection
principles to plan and implement security programs and solutions in support of the
business.
 Frequent contact and exchange with all levels of line, regional and corporate management
as well as external clients and relationships.
 A problem solver with strong analytical skills to review, evaluate, recommend changes
and/or develop and implement new programs based on requirements and customer/client
needs.
 Conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving company personnel, assets,
and/or proprietary information.
 Develop unique solutions that balance the needs of the business without loss or
compromise of company assets and client/customer relationships.

Qualified candidates must have a history of demonstrating good judgment, confidentiality and

selected candidate will be someone who is high-energy, thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced
environment and is available to work extended hours as needed to support the requirements of the
position.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Must be able to provide strategic direction for the region with 2-5 year plans. Experience in
risk management and relevant security assessments. Ability to be highly proactive and
advise on processes as they are being improved or developed.
 Manages the staff deployment, which includes interviewing, hiring, training and assignment
of employees to work locations best-suited to the employee’s skill-set and experience while
meeting both the company and client’s needs.
 Manages the scheduling process to optimize operating results and to keep avoidable
overtime to a minimum; determines best resolution to staffing issues and problems.
 Ensures leaders and site managers maintain site coverage at all times; tracks requests for
time off including vacation and personal leave requests to ensure site coverage; responds to
emergency situations, call-offs, and absences to ensure that client sites have coverage.
 Ensures that accurate timekeeping, payroll, and billing data is posted in the automated
resource system; verifies payroll reports and corrects discrepancies; interfaces with
accounts receivable and payroll departments to make corrections.
 Maintains current knowledge of site contracts and requirements, of Security Officer
training, availability and time worked, and of client exclusion lists.
 Communicates scheduling changes with management, supervisors, and staff; serves as a
liaison with clients, management, and staff in resolving scheduling, training, and payroll
problems.
 Supervise office staff and delegate site-specific duties to on-site leadership staff.
 Coordinates the daily schedules and assignments of supervisory staff; briefs Leaders on
client contract and/or procedure changes.
 Advises management and/or Human Resources staff of openings as they occur; assists in
the screening of Security Officer candidates; interviews new Security Officers to ascertain
their availability for various shifts; matches Security Officers with site requirements and
qualifications.
 Recommends removal of Security Officers from posts based on client complaints,
attendance problems or other performance issues; advises management of any staffing
problems that may arise as client requirements change.
 Maintains record of Security Officer qualifications, certifications and training for audit and
review purposes and coordinates on-site training requirements with site supervisor to meet
client needs.
 Manages key and equipment control processes.
 Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned office.
 Simultaneous accountability for numerous clients at multiple customer locations.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 High School diploma and a minimum of seven years of related security management
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the
essential functions of the job as determined by SOS.
 Able to be the Qualifying Agent for SOS Operations in all regions/States where responsible.
 Safe Driving Record
 Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact
effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations/individuals,
the ability to protect and maintain confidentiality, ability to execute tasks independently
and multi-task.
 Thorough understanding of security operations.
 Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
 Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical concepts including computation of rates, ratios,
percentages, averages and reconciliation.
 Ability to direct work by providing instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule
form.
 Demonstrated knowledge of standard office and productivity software.
 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various internal and external documents and reports.
 Ability to write reports and correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
 Ability to be an effective team player.


WORKING CONDITIONS: (Physical/Mental Demands)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 Previous experience (8+ years) in a security environment.
 Security, Police or military training background.
 ASIS Board-Certified Protection Professional, Certified Information Security Services
Professional, CISM
