JOB SUMMARY
The Product Architecture Team in the New Product Development organization at S&C is responsible for "powering" technical architecture for the next generation of S&C products. Product Architects report to the Director of Product Architecture, and work in a department that is chartered to provide overall solution architecture and technical leadership to help drive major projects at S&C. As a Human Factors Engineer at S&C, you will flourish at the intersection of user-centered product design, product development, technology, services, and digitization. You will have the unique opportunity to deliver new and unique design solutions and experiences, using customer insights, for various S&C products and related services.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Conduct research on user experience research methods including industry best practices like user interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries, focus groups, concept testing, usability testing and others.
* Distill insights into themes that guide user needs, user risks, and user interface design
* Assist in planning and conducting user research studies, such as interviews, remote usability sessions, surveys, questionnaires, prototype demonstrations and others.
* Draft use scenarios, task analyses, critical task lists, surveys, and moderator scripts
* Data collection, analysis, and generation of documentation
* Develop actionable insights from user research studies.
* Using human factor engineering methodologies, analyze data trends, generate reports, and identify product opportunities based on user feedback/studies
* Leverage data to provide directional guidance to product designs teams
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
* Bachelors degree in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Human Systems Integration, Human Factors Engineering, Human Centered Design, Engineering Psychology or related fields.
* Working knowledge of human factors principles, UI/UX design principles, user-centered design perspectives, wireframes, prototyping, user flows, user story mapping, low/high fidelity sketches and design specifications.
* Working knowledge of Balsamiq, Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch and other design tools
* Experience with focus group, voice of customer, and human factor formative and summative studies.
* Excellent ability to translate complex information, ideas, and customer feedback into clean and aesthetic design outputs
* Some experience and knowledge of analytics, customer feedback methods, and measuring user engagement
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and great interpersonal skills.
* Detail-oriented and logical thinker with strong analytical skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Up to 20% potential travel per year
Relevant Experience Required: 2+ years of experience in Human Factors Engineering
