The National Sales Director (Telesales) is responsible and accountable for all aspects of mortgage loan production for multiple telesales sites, for executing on the strategic business plan to attain lending production goals, generate profit, drive volume, increase the refinance penetration rates of our servicing base (grow recapture rates), lead a team of managers, and manage and grow sales teams .   The National Sales Director, will lead a team of approximately 150 telesales MLOs, under the direction of a team of Sales Managers.

 As the National Sales Director you will be tasked with leading the development and growth of multiple sales centers; including the hiring of employees and development of all processes and procedures required to successfully originate residential mortgage loans that are saleable to the GSEs.

 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Drive Mortgage Production and Financial Results
  • Manage/Grow Telesales mortgage production
  • Achieve production targets, applications and fundings
  • Partner with Marketing to understand and drive business strategy focused on volume and revenue generation
  • Partner with Secondary to develop and execute on pricing and production strategies
  • Partner with Fulfillment to ensure best in class customer service levels and cycle times
  • Responsible and accountable for compliance across all aspects of loan production
  • Meet or exceed volume and revenue generation goals
  • Operate within budget expense goals
  • Manage all aspects of sales center operational metrics (calls, handle rate, service levels, abandonment rates, call to app conversion rates, talk time etc.).

Leadership Management

  • Attract, retain and develop mortgage loan originators and sales management staff
  • Ensure effective education and employee development focused on state licensing and continued education requirements
  • Create a results focused culture where ‘how you do what you do is as important as what you do’
  • Drive best in class employee engagement and customer satisfaction (monitored through survey results)
  • Hold teams and business partners accountable to results and performance
  • Create and manage team member development plans and performance reviews

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • College degree, Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong track record and experience in the residential mortgage lending sales space


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of seven years of sales management experience in mortgage lending/originations/required
  • Experience building strong relationships with internal business partners to achieve success
  • Intimate working knowledge of the originations business including HARP, FHA, VA (IRRRL) and traditional conforming products, pricing and business strategies
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting standards (GSEs) and loan fulfillment processes
  • Strong experience working telesales center environment with portfolio/recapture strategic focus
    Excellent P&L management skills with substantial experience leading a profitable channel and executing a strategic business plan
  • Proven track record of successfully managing 75 or more MLOs across multiple sites
  • Ability to successfully recruit, interview, hire, develop and retain MLOs and Sales Leaders
  • Proven ability to lead, model, coach, and mentor all levels of sales and sales management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technology skills required (LOS, PC, Web-portal tools)
