Job Description

The Institute of Living (IOL) is seeking a full-time, certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work with its inpatient adolescent population, ages 13- 18 years.  The Adolescent Inpatient Unit, based on the IOL campus, is an integral component of the Institute's continuum of care.  The APRN position involves working with adolescents and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team and includes: initial evaluations of adolescents; initiation of and monitoring/titration of medications(s); consultation/supervision with attending child/adolescent psychiatrists; meetings with families; and participation in administrative meetings regarding the unit's organization.  Involvement in individual therapy and/or group therapy is also a possibility.  Attendance at the IOL's Grand Rounds presentations is encouraged.

 



Job Requirements

A qualified candidate will meet the following criteria:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
