This is a fulltime (FTE) Network Administrator opportunity based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This position performs engineering and third level technical system administration analysis, implementation, maintenance and support of network components, including wide area and local area network [LAN/WAN] design, operations, maintenance, and disaster recovery. Responsible for network perimeter security design, implementation, operations and support.


Performs engineering and third level system administration technical specification, design, implementation, and maintenance of network components including LAN/WAN and disaster recovery;

Provides engineering and third level system administration to ensure network operational requirements and standards are met, including system availability and performance;

Troubleshoots and serves as primary contact with vendors for support of all network hardware, software, cabling and communication equipment;

Researches, designs, engineers and performs and/or oversees the implementation, configuration, and management of network systems for all datacenter hardware platforms;

Maintains and troubleshoots network system monitoring, failover, and security processes;

Develops technical specification and performs the acquisitions and purchase of all technology related to network and perimeter security;

Performs second and third level support activities to insure network support to all sites is provided in a timely and courteous manner to achieve complete customer satisfaction;

Provides for the process definition, management, and improvement of IT service delivery to all sites;

Identifies, responds to, and initiates resolutions to site problems and concerns regarding datacenter and WAN impact on end-user computing;

Works closely with departments to coordinate plans and activities including ability to facilitate specific development projects that involve technology and services, as well as the coordination of upgrades and the installation of new system products;

Leads, participates in and tracks special projects as required to access and implement datacenter and network technology and services;

Performs capacity reviews and planning for datacenter networks and LAN/WAN equipment, services and functions, as well as analyzes vendor proposals and maintains current knowledge of overall IT vendor capabilities;

Provides input and collaboration regarding IT Department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education;

Maintains integrity of technical documentation and system user documentation; including standardized processes, procedures, and workflows;

The successful Network Administrator / Engineer will have:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or additional years experience in lieu of degree;

Must have experience with technology relevant engineering / third level support for data center and network systems;

Demonstrated two or more years of experience with:

• Designing IP address schema/networks;

• Configuring and installing communication equipment (routers, switches, modems);

• Designing, implementing and operating complex network security equipment (Firewalls, TACACS+, Network Intrusion Prevention, Remote Access/VPN, two-factor authentication, SSL encryption);

• Configuring and operating Domain Name Services, DHCP services;

• Design, configure and maintain Voice over IP phone systems; and

• Installation of communication cabling/fiber, communication line termination and management.

The following certifications are preferred:

• Citrix Certified Administrator • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) • Network + Certification • A+ Certification • IT Security certification (GIAC, CISSP, and/or Security+)
