Job Description

Summary:
Assists Plant Manager in overseeing day to day production plant operations, including budgets, safety, inventory control, expenditures and asset requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans departmental activities to meet corporate objectives, organizing the work activities to accomplish the planned activities, directing and developing employees by providing formal and informal performance planning and assessment including disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Coordinates production in collaboration with Plant Manager and Production manager by obtaining needs from Sales department, reviewing and analyzing incoming raw materials, and setting up production schedules.
  • Conduct audit programs (inventory cycle counts) and leads efforts to implement corrective actions that resolve issues identified in audits/assessments.
  • Operate in a cross-functional role in other areas when required. Act as Plant Manager and Production Manager/Supervisor as needed.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations according to food safety programs and ensure all company food safety procedures and policies applicable to operations are enforced.
  • As necessary, inspect materials, product, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Manage the interview, selection, on-boarding, learning and development and performance management process.



Qualifications:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is
required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficient in Spanish. 

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PERSONAL TRAITS:
Must be able to handle multiple, conflicting priorities. Must be able to communicate and support the company’s policies and procedures to employees in a positive manner. Must be able to follow directions from a supervisor. Must be able to interact with coworkers. Must be able to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures. Must be able to accept constructive criticism. Must be able to lead and manage others.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:  
Personal computer, email, fax machines, standard office software (MS Office).

Experience:
  • Spanish proficiency
  • Previous Kaizen / Continuous Improvement experience.Needs 5 years of successful Production management
  • Will have supervisors reporting to them
  • Needs good understanding of labor management and MUV KPI’s
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel- Once a quarter
