Electrical Generating Systems Association Doral, FL (Onsite) Full-Time
Derived Salary: $25 - $35/Hour

AMERICAS GENERATORS and TRITON POWER are seeking a Full-Time Generator Technician.

POSITION SUMMARY

Utilizing existing and learned knowledge to identify and remedy our Triton Power generators, both at our facility and customer location problems with generators and other equipment and performing complex and/or major repairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with diesel and power generation equipment, including problems with a variety of diesel engines including Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, John Deere, Scania and other manufacturers.
  2. Working knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and generator controls AC and DC.
  3. Make repairs and recommendations to service department, coordinate ordering appropriate parts to complete repairs.
  4. Perform all repairs on various diesel engines and generator equipment and related support equipment; replace support equipment as necessary.
  5. Perform commissioning of equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
  6. Utilize measuring equipment including multimeters, ampmeters and meghometers for the diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  7. Perform load testing via dry type load bank test equipment and perform building tests utilizing automatic transfer switches and related controls.
  8. Assist lower-level Field Service Technicians in completing work assignments as necessary.
  9. Install generators on fuel tanks and trailers.
  10. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  11. Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  2. Three to seven years generator technician and related experience
  3. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  4. The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
  5. The trait of being comfortable in making decisions for oneself.
  6. Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  7. Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  9. Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer Skills: Computer navigation and utilization skills required. Including diagnostic software for engines and alternators. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred. Engine Diagnostic computer skills.

Certificates & Licenses: Proven ability and knowledge to work on Diesel Engines (Prefer Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, John Deere or Scania).

Other Requirements: Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools required. Clean driving record and valid Driver’s License required.

Experience

Required: 3 - 7 years: Three years minimum experience.

Education

Required: High School or higher; Technical/other training or better.

Licenses & Certifications

Required: Driver License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
