Staff Engineer

Our client is an industry leader in Chillicothe. Due to growth we are currently searching for a motivated candidate to fill their open position.

Duties include:

  • Commitment to objectives regarding safety, quality, cost, delivery and management according to the department business plan
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related cost
  • Transition products from product development to mass production
  • Assist in the review of contractor plans, including goals, objectives and schedules and timelines
  • Budgeting
  • Provide technical direction and support
  • Serves as business liaison
  • Attends briefings with Sr. Management and assists in problem resolution
  • Design and test electronic products
  • Write test procedures
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
  • Develops and tests various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
  • Attend shift meetings and other applicable to the position
  • 5S (Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) your work space and 5S duties as assigned
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements include:

  • Quality control the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality, paying particular attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
  • Adaptability the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays and unexpected events
  • Dependability the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions and responds to management
  • Safety and security the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Proficiency in using a variety of computer software application especially Excel and Microsoft word
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Computer assisted design (CAD)
  • B.S. degree preferred in Engineering field but Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field and a minimum of four years experience and/or training is acceptable
  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods
  • Strong machining, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills PLC and CNC skills
  • Lean manufacturing techniques
