Apprentice Field Engineer.

SMI IMAGING LLC Tampa, FL (On Site) Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/POSITION GOAL: This is an entry level Field Engineer role working on diagnostic imaging equipment. Looking for an individual with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge who is interested in "on the job training" to become a multi-modality field engineer.

  • Assist and shadow other field engineers diagnosing problems and performing PM's
  • Attend in house training sessions with modality leaders
  • Become competent on performing PM's individually during first 60 days
  • Self-motivated to learn new things without constant supervision
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed with some occasional domestic travel
  • Clean driving record and access to a vehicle

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS: Demonstrates competencies in customer service and an understanding SimonMed Imaging code of conduct and culture.

EQUIPMENT: Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.

JOB RELATED AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH: Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations. Participation in specific activities for the promotion of self-growth or the enhancement of a positive image.

QUALITY: Applies the standards of practice/performance in the work setting to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Should possess specialized knowledge in electrical and mechanical theory
  • Minimum 2 years of post-high school education with a focus on a technical degree
  • Good Communication and Strong customer service skills
  • Able to operate a computer as well as job specific software
  • Detail oriented and arrives to work on time every day
  • Solid judgement and Strong decision making skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Must be able to work in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

DRESS ATTIRE: Business casual with safety attire
