Job Description

Constantly adapting to changing market and customer needs, Technology Solutions puts science to work for its customers.       Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Director, manage and integrate within the Region, the different supply chain functions (Logistic & Operations, Planning & Scheduling, Customer Services, Excellence, Provisioning and related functions) and to manage the interfaces with all internal / external stakeholders. To ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidance’s and internal quality policies and standards in order to efficiently and effectively manage resources and the flow of materials and supply chain related information in alignment with the business strategies, objectives and excellent service to our customers.     Responsibilities:  
  • Contribute to the GBU Supply Chain strategy, policies and standards. Deploy the global supply chain policies within the region.
  • Define, in alignment with the global Supply Chain strategy, defend and deploy the regional Supply Chain strategy, plans and budget.
  • Propose and deploy the stock policies for the imported products according to regional business needs. Deploy the procurement policies, and assure all possible synergies with the Procurement network are exploited.
  • Adapt, when necessary, GBU supply chain processes, to the regional business processes and context.
  • Implement the customer satisfaction improvement processes within the own organization. Manage strategic suppliers by defining procedures, following up the performance and taking corrective actions when necessary.

  • Ensure, for own perimeter, that all supply chain processes are aligned with each other, and running efficiently.
  • Manage the supply chain activities within own perimeter.
  • Ensure, within own perimeter, full compliance with all relevant safety, environmental & quality standards, and Solvay policies including the ISO procedure.
  • Follow up and (internally and externally) benchmark the competitiveness and the quality of the Supply Chain within own perimeter and define, propose and implement projects to improve results in terms of operational excellence, cost saving and customer satisfaction. Optimize the supply balancing demands across businesses and sites (finished/integrated and intermediate products).
  • Define and implement KPI’s for own perimeter in alignment with the global KPI’s.
  • Ensure, within own perimeter, effective complaints management, report recurrent problems to higher level manager, and propose action plans to improve the logistic services to customers.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to outsource supply chain activities.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team and provide the necessary input for contract negotiations.  Implement strategic supply contracts and the relation with the major services providers.
  • May represent Solvay within professional associations.
  • Identify and evaluate possible Logistic Services Providers and propose logistic services to be outsourced.
  • Ensure, for own perimeter, the coordination with sales & marketing, manufacturing, tolling partners, and logistic service providers and other GBU entities in order optimize performance.
  • Define, propose, implement and follow up the entity’s budget, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Define team structure and the resources needed.
  • Report to management results and developments realized in the department.

  • Define objectives for, lead, motivate, coach, develop and evaluate the members of the own team. Ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged within the team.
  • Participate in the selection, rotation and promotion of team members.
  Qualifications:  
  •  University degree in Business, Economics, SC Management, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management specifically working for manufacturing organization.
  • At least 3 year’s management experience, managing and developing diverse teams.
  • Team player with ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of mining industry and chemicals is preferred;
  • Fluent in English language
  • Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
