A US based Entry Level Software Engineer position is currently available to qualified candidates.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and improving a variety of software and firmware applications supporting Tektronix products. The job involves development and maintenance of software and embedded firmware code that interfaces with test-and-measurement hardware such as SMUs, DMMs, oscilloscopes, switch matrices, CV meters, pulsers, AFGs, and power supplies. The candidate will design, prototype, code, and unit test product features targeting Tektronix equipment. They will report to the Software Manager and contribute to a multi-discipline product team, working directly with customers, applications engineers, manual writers, verification engineers, and commercial marketing.

Requirements:

+ Work with Software Manager, Project Manager, and Technical Lead to perform assigned development tasks. Contribute to creation of project and product goals, consistently meeting and exceeding those goals.

+ Design for maintainability, manufacturability, ease of use, and overall quality.

+ Implement tasks based upon stated goals, independently and collaboratively within a cross-discipline team.

+ Solve difficult problems of diverse scope in creative and practical ways.

+ Create design documentation that is modern, maintainable, and transferrable.

Qualifications:

+ A four-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

+ Ability to quickly learn new concepts and handle sophisticated coding assignments.

+ Highly Desired:

+ Familiarity with Agile development processes and management tools (e.g. Jira).

+ C/C++ programming experience with excellent debugging skills.

+ Experience programming in a scripting language such as Python, Perl or Lua.

+ Solid understanding of Linux, Windows and/or embedded RTOS environments.

+ Familiarity with Object-Oriented design principles.

+ Comfort collaborating with hardware engineers to control hardware.

+ Knowledge of product development for test and measurement equipment for electronics.
