Job Description
You’ve gained a high level of experience in gas chromatography. Here’s where you take it further. Join a dynamic market-leading group based in Wilmington, Delaware, involved in GC product definition and strategic marketing.
In this position, you will be the Product Manager for GC Analyzer Solutions. As the key steward of the business success of our GC Analyzer portfolio, you will:
- Evaluate the special needs of GC customers and propose new Analyzer solutions that will provide added value to our customers and differentiate Agilent in the marketplace.
- Develop the business models to secure project funding and help prioritize R&D investments in the Analyzer portfolio. Represent Marketing in the product development lifecycle.
- Work with our R&D, Order Fulfillment, and Applications teams to develop, test, and demonstrate the capability and value of new Analyzer solutions to drive market awareness and demand.
- Work cross-functionally with our internal and external marketing teams and Field Sales organizations to commercialize and promote Analyzer solutions, driving profitable growth and market share expansion of Agilent’s GC business.
- Manage part numbers, pricing, profitability, margin contribution, customer experience, and obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work with our Support and Quality organizations to address quality issues, optimize and balance escalation resolution, and increase customer satisfaction for our GC analyzer portfolio of products.
To succeed in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Direct experience with GC and an understanding of the technical underpinning of the operation of GC hardware and software systems.
- Domain knowledge of the applications of our GC customers in the energy and chemical, food, environmental, forensic, and pharmaceutical application sectors.
- A successful track record for working cross-functionally across an organizational matrix, acting as a strong team player. Able to manage and prioritize conflicting demands.
- A passion for GC, its applications, and the analytical instrument industry we serve. High-energy, a propensity for initiative and a strong bias for action.
Qualifications:
Educated to at least B.S. degree level in Chemistry or a related science. At least 5 years experience in GC use, sales, and/or marketing. A deep understanding of GC analyzers used in energy and chemical labs, including RGA, NGA, and SimDist is a real plus. Experience in GC product management is considered an advantage.
