Job Description

APEX SYSTEMS is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support corporate leads and attorneys for the Litigation team within their Law Business Unit in Houston, TX.

The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for helping support the criminal and civil client/attorney privilege. This is a true litigation position, not a transactional role (i.e. not a corporate governance position, no reviewing of corporate minutes, or contract review).

Job Responsibilities:

o Conduct factual research o Conduct document review and QC

o Assist with TIMES searches and box reviews (this could be as much as 10-15 hours/week)

o Assist with privilege redactions of electronic files for asset sales and divestitures o Index boxes for archiving into TIMES

o Schedule preservation order witness interviews

o Draft privilege logs

o Support legal teams, as needed, in managing preservation, data collection, and production

o Act as a liaison with business clients, outside counsel, third-party vendors, and eDiscovery Specialists to manage matters, as needed

o Handle appropriate application of Law Function tools, processes, Company policy and compliance through matter management

Qualification Requirements:

*Bachelors degree require

Paralegal degree or certification preferred.

o 2 - 5 years Litigation Paralegal experience in a law firm or legal group within a corporate environment required

o Experience with document/discovery review

o Strong organizational skills; self-starter; ability to meet competing deadlines

o Experience with eDiscovery practices, process, and tools (Ringtail and Relativity) required

o Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as legal research applications (including Pacer, Lexis and Westlaw) required

o Demonstrated analytical abilities and judgment o Strong oral and written communication skills
