FUNCTION: This person will be reporting to the Facilities Manager and will also work for Production Manager for daily operations. Position will mainly entail, but not be limited to the following tasks. Independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on all Mahindra tractors and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Inspection Supervisor
Performs diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, or other failures on tractors and implements.
Disassembles, repairs, adjusts, and reassembles units such as engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, brakes, electrical systems, fuel systems, etc.
Uses appropriate tools including various instruments, shop machines, and power tools.
Performs basic diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and other failures in diesel-powered units
Replaces or repairs worn or damaged parts.
Test drives and evaluates equipment as needed to assure quality maintenance, repair, performance, and safety.
Performs all functions of tractor repair. Includes engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, suspension systems, floors, doors, latches, and sheet metal.
Reconditions used equipment. Prepares new equipment for delivery. Makes adjustments and installs accessories and other component equipment
Maintains current knowledge of Mahindra tractors and implements
Actively participates and attends all available training courses and events relevant for this position, particularly all technical service training and product training.
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments including warranty claims for repairs completed.
Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties
May perform diagnosis and repair in the field
Assist with installation of mowers, backhoes, and other implements.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
3-5 years of experience performing service repairs
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following standard operating procedures
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Ability to use basic computer functions (required)
