Your Role & Responsibilities
Summary Initiate, organize, plan, direct, and monitor all responsible departmental functions required to accomplish division objectives. Enforce the mission and vision of the organization as well as provide operational guidance and recommendations based on financial performance and annual objectives. Carry out directives from the Director and General Manager. Hands-On Mentality! Responsibilities 1.Administrative / Personnel: #Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. #Responsible for managing lead developer and project manager short and long term goals. #Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring/firing, training, mentoring, work planning, assigning work, directing work, appraising performance, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues/problems. #Complete general administration tasks such as: timesheet review/approval, authorization of expenses, P.O. approval. #Utilize and create/update position descriptions of direct reports. #Responsible for maintaining competent motivated employees. 2.Systems Engineering: #Accountable for all Aspects of Developing, Managing and Implementing the Organizations' Product and Technology Roadmap and Portfolio in Alignment with the Organizations Strategy #Responsible for managing all System Design activities for future products and platforms, which include on time and on-budget deliveries, achieving project milestones, customer satisfaction, and financial success. #Responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with internal and external customers as well as foster a customer intimate environment with the PM team. #Support customer projects through proposals, issues meetings/lists, project reviews, customer feedback, and project financials. #Responsible for design and architecture of all products (System Design). 3.Hardware, Software & Application Engineering: #Accountable for development activities and maintenance teams #Responsible for meeting deliverables, scope, timing, budget and quality. #Responsible for design and architecture of all products. #Responsible for ensuring hardware products align with industry technology and customer requirements. #Responsible for development processes including Agile, distributed development including international teams, product life cycle management, issues management, preventative actions, and corrective actions. #Responsible for ensuring those internal processes meet industry "best practices". #Responsible for mentoring lead developers, providing high level direction to teams. 4.Strategy: #Accountable for hardware, software and system product strategy. #Shared strategic responsibilities for technology roadmaps, product strategy, product portfolio, prioritize research and development efforts, intellectual property protection and patents, return on investment, business models, member of Test Systems "ideas" council, and make-versus-buy evaluations for technology/products. 5.Financial: #Responsible for departmental budgets, CAPX, business/sales forecasting, cost control, planning, invoicing, and P.O. procurement. #Shared responsibilities for supporting business development and management activities to achieve sales targets, cross departmental budgets, forecasts, and product planning. #Work with finance department in reserve schedule meetings, divisional WIP allocation, release of sales, accounts receivable, and work with customer for invoice approvals.

Your Skills & Strengths
Education/Experience Required #Minimum Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Domain #7-10 Experience with system, hardware and software design required #Minimum 2 years in a leadership role #Experience in managing hardware and advanced/system engineering teams required #Knowledge of hardware industry "best practices" required #Knowledge of project management "best practices" required #Experience with budget development and control required #Experience in hardware product strategy and life cycle management required #Experience with automotive diagnostic software tools considered a strong plus #Experience with the design and development of automotive diagnostic software tools is required. #Intimate knowledge of existing OE-Services and products is a strong plus #Outstanding communication and customer-facing skills required
