Position Summary:
The Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is searching for two passionate educators with expertise in general physiology and/or exercise physiology to join our team. We are seeking two applicants for full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions that will begin in the fall of 2025 (the possibility for a spring 2025 hire does exist). The Department of Exercise and Sport Science is housed within the College of Science and Health and supports and values diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. We seek a colleague who shares the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and who will be a dedicated teacher, active scholar, and effective mentor for students with diverse backgrounds, preparation, and career goals.
Under general supervision of the department chair, individuals in these positions are responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes, teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. These individuals are expected to maintain an active, ongoing program of scholarship appropriate to the discipline. In addition, these individuals will provide service to the department, college, and university and are likely expected to provide service to the community and/or the profession. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the appointment should have or be near to completing a doctorate degree in exercise physiology or a closely related field by the start date. Doctorate completed no later than the end of the first academic year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more years teaching courses at the university-level in Exercise Science.
- Expertise and/or certifications in clinical exercise physiology and/or strength and conditioning.
- Evidence of an emerging research agenda related to exercise science.
