Construction Supervisor (Orwell, Ohio)
Our client, a world leader in metalworking, aerospace tooling, Machining, Drilling, Mining and other Construction needs, is currently in need of a Project Manager. This position will be a Contract without an end date (client anticipates 12- 24 months plus for this resource to monitor, and report on Safety and Construction Activities).
This role will be the Lead Construction Supervisor onsite reporting site progress and safety compliance to Lead Project Manager and Stakeholders. Project management and safety expertise, specifically related to construction site work and operations, is required.
Safety Monitoring tasks for this role:
Safety Monitoring Responsibilities will include providing daily report of any safety discrepancies found or observed by:
Attending the construction daily safety meeting to gain understand of high-risk evaluations for each day, and, while at these meetings, provide an independent perspective and voice to ask questions and ensure critical safety aspects are clearly communicated and understood by those in attendance.
Evaluating construction general contractor’s (and associated sub-contractors) performance to ensure focus on safety in all task. Where needed, stop work so that shortcomings can be brought to the construction general contractor’s attention and can be subsequently addressed.
As needed, work with the construction general contractor to determine suitability of construction workers to remain or return to the job site after safety violations.
As needed, perform audits of construction general contractor’s safety program and the administration of said program.
Overseeing critical new equipment installations with respect to safety including the creation of JSA’s, Lock out tag out, PPE and installation safety review with suppliers and KMT personnel.
Conducting daily safety reviews of equipment installation with authority to stop work to implement safety procedures.
Project Management / Site Progress reporting responsibilities for this role:
Meet with Construction and General Contractors daily to determine planned tasks for the day, and determine critical daily tasks needed to progress the overall construction schedule forward.
Monitor and inspect construction tasks, and work to validate that documented requirements are being satisfactorily met.
Coordinate with the owner’s engineering lead to report questions or concerns that arise on technical aspects of work or associated requirements.
Provide daily reports to Lead Project Managers on the construction general contractor’s performance of planned tasks, and provide look ahead to upcoming key tasks.
Report to the Site program lead and facilities lead on daily project deliverables.
