Primary Functions:
The primary function of the Director, Procurement and Pricing is to set the strategic direction of and define sound policies for the procurement, pricing, and acquisition integration aspect of the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
A highly effective Director, Procurement and Pricing has extensive knowledge and experience of multiple aspects of multimodal supply chain solutions. The Director, Procurement and Pricing is able to effectively leverage their knowledge and experience to lead multiple teams in procuring carrier capacity and overseeing pricing activities to drive overall business profitability.
Position Responsibilities:
* Assist Sales and support Operations with completion of customer requests for information and pricing.
* Collaborate with Senior Leadership to establish and implement pricing and procurement strategies to employ to win profitable business from our customers
* Lead efforts to establish pricing strategies for each customer opportunity received
* Lead efforts to determine procurement tactics employed for both awarded and prospective business
* Lead efforts to perform freight network analysis, optimization, and logistics engineering to support customer needs and opportunities.
* Manage Pricing and Procurement & Network Analysis teams
* Establish the strategic direction for developing and increasing carrier communication automation across the organization.
* Lead specialized pricing projects and carrier bids to assist Operations in procuring additional carrier capacity.
* Work with the acquisition team to lead the integration of companies acquired.
* Work with the Technology team to develop, enhance, and implement the technology tools needed to support the organization's pricing and procurement needs
* Lead efforts to deepen carrier relationships for Procurement needs and work with customers on Pricing needs, as needed.
* Develop new offerings and product improvement.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
* Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
* Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 10 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
