The Staff Accountant will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with AP Accruals, General Ledger recons and Journal Entries. Responsibilities: - Put together statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources - Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects - Support Project Managers: act as first line of defense for urgent invoice requests, project cost updates, etc. - Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required - Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes - Aid Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing. Also responsible for all AP Accruals. - Post financial information to journals and ledgers
