Located in Schaumburg, IL, this role can work either fully in office or in a hybrid in-office/remote office environment after training is completed. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Accounting Department. Must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. The position involves full accounting responsibilities for multiple clients who are non-profit membership-based societies. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced accountant who is interested in working in a growth company with professional growth opportunities. This would be an ideal role for someone with a small accounting firm background who enjoys working on a variety of tasks for multiple clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Concentration on month-end duties for multiple non-profit, membership-based clients
  • Maintains and balances client accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolves discrepancies
  • Post Clients Payroll for 3rd Party Payroll System and reconcile quarterly payroll filings to GL
  • Standard closing reports for clients; client analysis and other reports as required
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Assist and support client budget and forecasting process
  • Assists in external financial audit and examination processes, including assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes, and supplemental information
  • Year-end close and client review; send final reports to client’s CPA and manages the tax filing process
  • Participates in continuous improvement of internal controls and oversight of financial systems
  • Can support Treasury function for clients with guidance from CFO
  • Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years’ client accounting experience required
  • Ability to handle multiple clients
  • Strong work ethic and detail orientation
  • CPA designation preferred, but not required
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills (oral and written), the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients - and the initiative to get the job done
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks; Advanced QuickBooks experience a plus.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to multitask and work within deadlines
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes intense work environment
