Director, Candidate Experience

We are committed to delivering safe, reliable service that gets customers to their destinations on time–and we're looking to hire talented folks with a commitment to excellence to make it all possible.We are currently looking for a Director, Candidate Experience to join our team!Roles and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Sr. Director Candidate Experience, the director oversees the work of the onboarding unit, testing unit, and background check unit.Directly oversee all activities and work product of the Candidate Experience team and resolves the day to day questions and issues that routinely ariseImplements policies, practices and procedures for ensuring an effective and expedited new hire onboarding experience that is legally compliant, timely and well organized to meet the challenging demands of our business unitsCoordinates with departments that require input and handoff of onboarding new hires and processing promotionsEnsures that all candidates are handled with the utmost care and consideration while processing their new hire and promotional paperwork while executing multiple transactions in minimal time Supervises, coaches and mentors subordinate members of the Candidate Experience team. Performs performance evaluations for all subordinate team membersCollects metrics to assess the effectiveness of current and future actionsAssist in developing, implementing and executing on all HR technological projects/migrations and all talent acquisition offer processing to include, but not limited to, post offer candidate management (e.g., written offers, scheduling for background, medical, new hire/promotional paperwork, badges, etc.), data entry, testing operations, HRIS technology implementations and background check operations.Designs the process for completing talent acquisition offers as well as ensuring an effective and expedited new hire onboarding experience that is well within scope of local, state and federal hiring guidelines but also meets the challenging demands of our business units.Coordinates with Hiring Managers to clearly define expectations for new and departing employees.Collaborates and works alongside all departments that require input and handoff of onboarding new hires and processing promotions (HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, IT, etc.)Works with HR management and other NJ TRANSIT organizations to understand onboarding needs, reduce time to start and become a conduit from Talent Acquisition to the rest of NJ TRANSITCreate Solutions for Background Check and Pre-employment testing requirements.Develop Standard Operating proceduresSupervision Given to:Sr. Candidate Experience Specialist Candidate Experience Specialist Candidate Experience Assistant Background Verification Program Specialist Employment Testing Specialist Education, Experience and Qualifications:Minimum:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field Minimum 7 years of varied HR operational experience (Transportation or Service-related industry preferred) to include experience working with onboarding, pre-employment and/or background investigation.Two years in a supervisory level position One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education requiredPreferred:Experience working within an applicant tracking system preferred•Prior experience in a supervisory or lead position in a professional or volunteer capacity preferredKnowledge and Skills:Essential:Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the internetKnowledge of applicable State and federal employment laws and regulations preferredStrong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillPreferred:Expertise in process design and execution strongly desiredAt NJ Transit you will enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefit package: Comprehensive Family Health Insurance – Prescription, Dental, Vision Flexible Spending Account Life Insurance Paid Leave 3 YEAR VESTED: Retirement Plan Options: 401(a) is a 6% employer contribution. 401(k) at least 6% with an additional 3% company match.Tuition Assistance Qualified Transportation Expense Plan (QTE) At NJ TRANSIT we support and depend upon the diversity of our staff.
