Responsible for performing the integration and/or test of all components, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. In support of system design activities, responsible for test and/or integration of COTS-based electromechanical systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system. Integration responsibilities may include design, develop and implement integration plans for procedures for hardware, and software. Responsible for the physical and electrical compatibility of functional interfaces and first article product integration, ensuring seamless interface between the design and production of systems. Testing responsibilities may include analyzing requirements for testability issues. Develops and implements both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance. Plans and leads test working groups, test readiness reviews. Conducts testability and producibility analyses and reviews. May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Six (6) or more years hands-on experience in communications and information systems integration and testing
6+ years of experience working on Software Test Plans and Software Test program execution
Strong understanding of Black Box and White Box Testing procedures and processes
Experience building test automation frameworks for complex system architectures including back-end subsystems and front-end GUIs.
Strong skills in C/C++, QT, SQL, and BASH scripting.
Hands-on experience with data networks including knowledge of network protocols, and use of data collection and analysis tools
Experience in troubleshooting system issues, identifying the root cause, and clearly documenting the results of this analysis.
Working knowledge of; operating systems including MS Windows, Solaris, and Linux; and proficiency using Atlassian tools and advanced capabilities of MS Office tools, including Excel and MS Project.
Establish & maintain baseline configurations for lab environments
Participate in the review and analysis of system and subsystem requirements for testability
Develop test plans and procedures/scenarios to verify and validate (V&V) performance of the systems for compliance with requirement baselines.
Integrate hardware and software components of air traffic management subsystems.
Develop applications for driving automated testing and data analysis from the ground up for transition to DevOps testing environment.
