Requirements:  

  • Experience: 5+ years of Paralegal/Legal Assistant law experience is required, preferably with experience in employment law, and specifically with Civil Procedures (998s); Title VII, ADA, Wage & Hour, PAGA.    
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. 
  • Languages: Bilingual, English and Spanish, is strongly preferred.  
  • Licensing: Certified Paralegal (CP) is preferred.  
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office.  

Job Description: 

The Employment Law Paralegal role will report to our Sr. Corporate Paralegal and is responsible for assisting the case management process of litigated and non-litigated matters.  The role is critical in supporting case preparation by arranging summaries and materials, executing on the administrative cadence and sequence of litigation, including the management of Demands, Complaints, Discovery Process, Depositions, Mediations, Arbitrations, and Settlements.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work cross-functionally with Senior Leadership, Human Resources, Benefits and Legal. 
  • Coordinate objective investigations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in preparing responses to Counsel, organizing evidence, managing projects and implementing process for efficiency and timely case resolution.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with appropriate audience messaging
  • Proficient with Employment law case management, specifically with Wage & Hour, PAGA, Title VII, ADA, Interactive Process 
  • Ability to partner with HR and assist or guide in workplace investigations and summarization of findings
  • Provide administrative support to in-house and outside counsel
  • Organized with the ability to build process around document retention and records retrieval
  • Maintains confidentiality and exemplifies trust
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality work product with multiple projects 
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker; ability to problem solve leveraging both a conventional and unconventional mindset
  • Possesses intellectual curiosity with a passion for research and investigations
