Human Resources Benefits Analyst

JOB SUMMARY: Working from our Tontitown, AR office, the human resources benefits specialist is responsible for the implementation and administration of Central States' benefits and wellness programs. They will maintain and own benefits and leave of absence policies and procedures and assist in the development of the overall market-competitive strategy and philosophy for benefits programs to help drive employee engagement.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts benefits administration, provides research/benchmarking analysis, and wellness program development to ensure competitiveness and attractiveness to the job market. This includes medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, FSA, HSA, EAP, COBRA, and wellness.
Maintains knowledge of benefits related laws, requirements, and government reporting regulations, ensuring company policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Develops and manages vendor relationships and benefits third party administrators for long-term benefit strategies as well as ongoing assessments and plan administration.
Conducts Workers Compensation administration and return-to-work case management for work related injuries.
Responsible for preparing and monitoring benefits budgets, auditing and paying benefits related invoices, and analyzing and reconciling variances.
Designs new hire education and open enrollment materials related to all benefits programs and is responsible for employee benefits communications that promote education and compliance through multiple delivery channels.
Works with employees and/or vendors to research, escalate, and resolve issues, claims, and eligibility.
Responsible for the maintenance, development, implementation, and deployment of benefits and Leave of Absence related policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Current HRIS system: Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), formerly known as Ultimate Software (UltiPro).
Ownership of the HRIS Benefits modules testing, set-up, implementation, training, compliance, and maintenance.
Responsible for Open Enrollment and Life Event administration, implementation of benefit configuration changes, rate updates, system upgrades, etc. Coordinates changes within Payroll.
Manages year-end HRIS processes and reporting related to benefits.
Utilizes Cognos Analytics Business Intelligence reporting software to create, abstract, analyze, and audit benefits related data.
Maintains the confidentiality of any information encountered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience ensuring functional knowledge of Employee Benefits administration and processes (compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS, etc.).
Five or more years of progressive benefits management and leave of absence administration experience required.
Strong organizational, planning, strategic thinking, prioritization and problem solving skills.
Advanced knowledge of all relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs and human resources, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA etc.
Proficient HRIS knowledge and experience with implementation of HR software solutions.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Ultimate Software (UltiPro) experience preferred.
Cognos Analytics Business Intelligence experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Exceptional time management skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment and adhere to strict deadlines.
