the Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensures that assigned work areas operate in a pro-active safety focused methodology in compliance with all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Understand the set up and operation of all of the machines/welding equipment in the manufacturing area.
Operate assigned work area in 6S compliant manner.
Report any defective materials or workmanship to the Plant Manager so corrective action can be taken.
Oversee inventory organization for completed orders on the shop floor.
Provide training to shop staff in areas of responsibility.
Follow production schedule in assigned work areas to satisfy customer requirements per date required.
Assign shop staff to work stations and direct key work functions.
Function as a shift quality inspector, to ensure that company/customer specifications and requirements are satisfied.
Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
Providing ongoing performance feedback to shop staff which includes but not limited to completing and conducting performance reviews; providing ongoing performance coaching; celebrating and rewarding successes and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
