Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Solution Lead (Java Background)
Role: Solution Lead (Java Background)
Location: Johnston, IA 6+ Months
  • Establishes multi-year implementation roadmap for program
  • Should have built few websites and done data migrations.
  • Manage all IT aspects of program to plan (internal, external, vendors, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate reflection of IT perspective in program communication
  • 8 years development experience and then project planning experience
  • 3+years of experience as the Technical Lead/Engineer Lead for your team
  • 8+years’ experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • 5+years with Java/J2EE Application Design, Coding, and Implementation
  • 2+years of technical experience in multiple IT practices like Networking, Authentication and Authorization, Security, Application Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, etc.
  • 5+years’ experience with Web Application technologies such as JavaScript, Node.JS, XML, JMS, JDBC
  • 5+years’ experience with open source frameworks related to web applications (e.g. Spring, Hibernate/ORM etc.)
  • 2+years’ experience with Java tools such as Jira, SoapUI, Eclipse/Idea, SVN/Git, Junit (using TDD approach)
  • Experience with DevOps and deploying Cloud Applications
  • Experience in developing webservices (SOAP/REST). AWS certification will have added advantage
  • Technical depth that enables engaged consulting on technology, standards, processes, and best practices in areas of expertise and regarding new technologies

Solution Lead:
  • Is the owner of the program
  • Responsible to put the team together and involve right people
  • Accountability on security, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC)
  • Should be able to have independent discussions with business, create delivery plans independently, involve the architect at right places and ensure architect is able to produce deliverables.
  • Responsible for representing IT to all stakeholders
  • Should understand agile delivery
  • Would be responsible for sizing the work working with architect and Quality Lead.
  • Should be able to heavily influence groups/leads s/he works with. eg Business still thinks waterfall is the best approach, should be able to convince them to follow agile.
  • Would be responsible for transitioning work to support team
  • Approve MMF release plan to ensure MBV and measurable acceptance criteria
  • Operationalize new solution after each release
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Motivated and competent to contribute time and effort to work assigned.
  • Participate in meetings and follow up with resulting action items as needed..
  • Good aptitude, analytical skills.
  • Team player, organized and highly self-motivated.'
